Skins

There are a lot of comments related design, look and feel, window size and so on. Yes, this is important. Via proper design one can express his mood and his view on the reality. :)

The problem is that I’m not a designer – not even near to it. :)

So, designers! I’m inviting you!

In the latest version you can find a folder “Skins” inside the application folder.

A skin is just an xml file called “skin.rsn” inside skin folder and images around it. Very simple. Structure of XML is also very simple, you can play with it. One note is – the color code is like this “A,R,G,B”, where A is alpha (means transparency), R,G,B is a color.

And you can press F5 when you change the XML, so it will apply the changed skin. A skin can be choosen in options on page “Advanced”.

You can edit this XML file with this free tool: Free Microsoft XML Editor.

I know few people will like to create profesionally looking skins just for free. So, if you want to create very nice looking skins and want to sell it here please let me know I will think how we can do that.

Let’s start to create nice and beautiful skins! ;)

    Nice gallery on DA.
    When i see your samples there, i can close my photoshop, delete my skin files and relax. I have just to wait for the next of your skins. ;)

    Thanks, but don’t do that :) Just work in photoshop can bring higher skills, so keep working on new skins and don’t close PS, cause people likes your skins ;) My only problem is time. I hope so, I will get some more time to make another one soon.

    last time i worked often with PS is years ago.
    yeah time…
    today is the last day of my holidays. from next monday time is rare. a skin could take several days, but first the idea must come. :D

    the 3rd skin is finished (2 days, many hours), short testings, then publishing.
    after that i have time to work on the three skins to hold them on the versions level and make simple changes.

    LeLeon :

    Can you change the foundnumber position about 20-30 pix more to left. for example at german language it cuts the number of the found stations.

    I tried to move it left for even 100 px and resized width to 300px and still not shown all text. Is it bug for that maybe? LeLeon try to set Deutsch on your skin. Can you see all that text for “found number” in your skins when no filter? Looks that’s bug, not depending on skins. Please see how it looks to me that text http://www.picamatic.com/show/2009/04/18/04/21/3307618_599×399.png

    The problem with the too small ‘Stations found’ field is fixed only for the expanded mode. If you start the program in collapsed mode it still exists.

    @VEk4NO1D

    “Stations found” is out of Range x=321; y=59 and it does not exist in the Collapsed-Mode, so you have to set it unvisible:

    Open skin2.rsn with an Editor and change visible = 1 to visible = 0 in the FoundNumber Section.

    If FoundNumber is set to 1 and you start the Program in collapsed Mode, RS keeps the Position of FoundNumber when you switch to expanded Mode.

    @Andreas
    Maybe I didn’t made myself clear.

    If RadioSure starts in expanded mode everything looks fine. Even after switched to collapsed mode and back to expaded mode.

    Only if RadioSure starts up in collapsed mode, and switched back to expanded mode, than the “stations found” field is too small in the expanded mode.

    Честно говоря не очень похоже на Win2k :)

    Вот как она выглядит на XP: http://www.radiosure.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/win2k.png

    Ну да. А что не так?
    Нет невнятного фона, нет ненужной подсветки текста, кнопки там, где положено быть панели инструментов. Разве что меню так и нет и статусной строки. Первое сделать без поддержки движком нереально, а второе – бессмысленно.
    Плюс убрана избыточная информация, за счёт чего потребление приложением ресурсов уменьшено.

    Ну я имел ввиду, что в принципе с помощью скинов можно полностью съэмулировать интерфейс Win2k…

    Тогда этот скин можем назвать типа “Минималистичный”.
