Indeed , streams are changed (from m3u8 HLS coding, to m3u/mp3 coding)
Asked Mirz to edit all stations,so I could approve them ( als RNE stations now work again)
To get the new list, download from radiosure/stations below the new list, or wait two days (PRO users), or wait a week at least for free users if you want list to be updated by radio itself.
for radio classica

Thanks Fonzy. So were the m3u8 streams just temporary? The RNE Radio 3 m3u8 stream did sound noticeably better than the MP3 version, presumably because it was using the AAC codec.

No, no, RNE is based in Madrid. It's the national radio for Spain.

The slogan of the company is: "Cien por cien Radio Nacional" (Hundred percent national radio). Says Wikipedia.

Hello marcoibk,

Thank you. I didn't know that the other Spanish RNE stations were also concerned.

It seems that the m3u8 streams are working again now too, with the same urls as before.

Hello Nick_G,

Do these m3u8 streams have the same bitrate as the current ones (mp3,128 kbps)?

Dear Lapsang,

If you play the station (submit url from clipboard for example, or select one from the station by rightclick-choice, then you see the bitrate of the broadcasts on the little window , on body of the player (unless you changed the skin, and ommited that window, showing the kind of encoding (mp3,asx,wmv,aac,... etc- and the bitrate kbps ). Aside from the bradcast rate you can record on a different rate , by selecting in the options - recording menues
If anyone claims to hear the difference , between a 128 kb and a 256 kb sound , then that one is a genius, and depends on his/her physical hearing ,and the quality of the loudspeakers/headphones.

You can always record the radio broadcasts , with a speeds of 256 Kb if you wish so (resampling)
Note that the "auto" bitrate does not work in RS (since the HLS coding implementation), and gives files of 0 Kbytes size. Therefore you must select any speed, but not auto.

Hello Mr. Fonzy,

Is this not a misunderstanding?

I see the bit rate of the current streams (of course), but I was wondering which alternative streams were meant by Nick_G.

If the answer would be: „Yes, the m3u8 streams of which I spoke have a superior quality, for example ‘mp3 320 kbps’, or ‘AAC 96’, or ‘AAC 128’, or something like that, (I don’t know the exact meaning of ‘m3u8’, and also I don’t know if AAC is expressed in kbps), I would ask him to publish these stream addresses.

I always like good quality streams, although I agree I would not like to do a blind folded test to tell the difference.

The idea of good quality has a value in itself, I think.

Why does Radio?Sure! only show the bit rate for mp3, but not for AAC (mostly)?

Maybe you know this also.
