Could you not use your iPhone for telephone calls only? :|

Or: can't you just use nice apps like the Radio France app?

Or the BBC iPlayer app?

Consider your iPhone as an unnecessary addition to your daily life.

Thank you for the hints, but there is no way to install these apps to my old 32bit iPhone 4s.

It's too outdated, but it's still convenient with the apps being installed already.
(I really need to update, for sure.)

I like to use the phone to listen to radio stations I like with a sleep timer adjusted to fade out.
I seldomly use the phone as a phone only, but mostly for text messages of some kind and informations, data bases and so on.

This reminds me of the fact that besides my Windows computer I have an Mp3-player (Creative Zen).

It does not have internet, but is filled with podcasts. And it plays terrestrial radio-stations, rather many in our three countries environment.

It also has a sleep timer which is very convenient indeed.

Definitely much cheaper than an iPhone.

But, if I understand you well, your iPhone can do the same as my Mp3-player.

So, be happy.
