NASA Mission Audio

NASA Mission Audio
(it's currently in the RadioSure station list, so just search for "NASA")

Very cool station - it's like eavesdropping in on the conversation between Mission Control and the Space Shuttle (or International Space Station) astronauts/personnell. Last night I listened in during the spacewalk that finished the installation of the new Tranquility module to the space station.

The audio quality isn't great, it's pretty low fidelity, and there are also intermittent clicks and pops, but it's still understandable and fun. Hint: Play some soft instrumental music in the background (another launch of RadioSure?) while you're listening to this station. It makes the extra noises less annoying and actually enhances the experience (especially at night with the lights off). You (almost) feel like you're part of the mission!

This isn't active all the time, so if you know there's a shuttle mission in progress, make a point to select this station and listen in. This may be the closest most of us will get to being in space!
