Good suggestion, but....., we do not see admin for urgent issues (like paying for license and not getting key, or pay with paypall, etc)
so , chance that such a plugin will be develloped is VERY low ( is there still a developper anyway ??)
You can , however make a program yourself, to import the stationslist, and test all streams of each record (station= record)automatic and flag the non-working ones
Create it with ...(Msaccess, Msexcell, sql or basic languages ??, whatever you can manage)
Until that, I think the quickest way is to set filter on country (or other item), and test every instance with the radio itself (Hard labour !!!!!,-that is why we all may thank the few volunteers , who update the stations regulary )

To simply extract a list of your country, you can simple add .xls at the end of the radiosurexxx.rsd file, and open it with MSexcell, then set filter to country, and export that part, or use the filtered file itself

Can anyone write program to Export from database station for own country, and save it.
Next open saved playlist for selected coutry and check not working stations (get list and update or delete)
Many many stations wil be fast update.
Manualy verification is to long and to hard.
I know, in this forum is many smart people, who can write program to weryfication.

Hi,
Verification for a stream to connect or not, requires a program identical to the radio itself, (it must try connection and try if streams are valid and decodable). Who can do so ????
Extracting a list of own country, can be done in MSexcell or MSaccess, but then you only have a list on paper, identically with the filtered list in the radio. (then it is easier to click every station and see if it connects, than manually import the URL from a paper-listing ..., no ??

It would be useful to run this check on a centralized server each day and make the results available for volunteers to see on a web page or download as a .CSV file.

Have a list of proxy servers by country and run it so that each country gets different results... (see sites such at http://free-proxy-list.net/ for a list of free proxy servers by country)

To do this right, each unique stream should have a unique identifier (Stream ID) so that the results are reported by stream ID across version of the app.

Here is what I suggest for a quick test of hundreds of streams.
1. Download and save the daily station list. Extract the stations-(date).rds from the zip file.
2. Launch Microsoft Excel/
3. Open the.rds file approve the delimiter that Excel suggests (it is Tab delimited).
4. You will have columns for each of the fields in the file. Source 1 will be Column F.
5. Insert a column or scroll to the far right to an unused column. In the top cell type “=HYPERLINK(F1)” That will turn the text in cell F1 into an active URL. Copy that formula to the bottom of the column and it will become a column of URLs.
6. Create a custom filter (see attached photo) to isolate the sources you wish to test.
6. If you haven’t already, use Windows to associate the URL’s with Firefox browser.
7. Download and install Firefox Addon “tabcenter-redux” from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... ter-redux/ With this add on, on the left column you can quickly see if a link works or is broken.
8. Now quickly go down your spreadsheet column clicking on the URLs you wish to test. A quick glance at the “tabcenter-redux” will show the which ones are broken and which ones work.

UPDATE 18-jan-2018 : You do not need to buy Microsoft Excel. You can use free spreadsheet programs to do the same. Google docs on the cloud. Other recommendations are documented here https://articles.bplans.com/4-free-alte ... oft-excel/

You can filter on multiple columns, maybe you want to see sports-talk in a specific language or want to see stations streaming French in Canada. I did some filtering on source and found all the streamtheworld.com sources that had the word "live" in the URL so I could replace them with playerservices.streamtheworld.com.

Once you have the list you are interested in, you can use the manual method to look for errors that I described above, OR you can use this great program I found to check them for free, 50 at a time. For a $25 dollar registration fee, you can check hundreds at a time which is what I did. It checked all the 1500 or so streamtheworld.com streams in about 5-10 minutes. I would not suggest giving it more than that each time you run it - I tried to run it with the entire database and after a few days, I killed the process because it had not finished.

Microsoft Excel allows you to filter any or all of the columns to isolate the Sources you with to test. If you wish to isolate Streamtheworld streams that should be changed, you may wish to filter on a segment of the URL as shown in the picture above.

Doing a reply rather than an update so the date changes and people visiting the forum see it. (Please see my update to my previous post above)

Regarding the output of the checked url program - it is another spreadsheet. I normally put that into a workbook in Excel with the stations spreadsheet, then I use the Excel function called VLOOKUP which is really a way of doing a table lookup into a foreign table. Because Excel does not require a unique key, a column can have duplicate values and VLOOKUP will return the first occurrence.

So I add a new column to the bad URL sheet and do a two VLOOKUPs - the first returns a column of the stations and the second returns a column of the descriptions. Then I can easily paste the station onto the webpage to retieve the information that needs to be updated. The description is useful when the name is very generic and returns more than one page if results - by adding a key word from the description to the webpage search, it reduces the result set.

I also find FIREFOX the best browser for editing portions of URLs on the webpage because it selects text in a better way than Chrome. I use Chrome to find the URLs - I used both browsers at the same time.

Here is hot to use VLOOKUP:

With these tools, one can do almost 3k station updates in a month.
