Can't disable the fading function for recordings

Post by Stephan90 » 08 May 2021, 00:25

Hello Everyone,

I can' disable the function called “Fade-in and Fade-out for recordings”.
I don’t want to hear lower sound at the beginnings and at the endings of the recordings.
I would like to start and end my recordings with maximum volume.

So please tell me, how to do this setting.

Here is a Drive folder:
I show you with two recordings that there is no difference if the fading option is active or inactive.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
(Option / Recording / Apply Fade-in and Fade-out for recordings)
Of course after inactivate / activate this box, I closed and opened the program again, but with no results. :!:

Can you help me in this question? :?:

Regards,
Stephan

It seems your setting is locked to apply fading.( and setting does not change in the config file, where RadioSure gets its information at recording time)
You can check this in the file "RadioSure.xml" in the main folder of radiosure. The fact there is a mark in the window of the options screen should reflect the xml file, but only the loaded file in memory.
It can only happen if you installed on a non-writable device or folder without access (rights)
Therefore I always advice:
do install Radiosure in a non-protected area (folder) as "portable", so all files are in that non-protected folder.
(Non protected means: not in the secured areas of windows, where the access-rights are very critical)
Do set to start radiosure.exe with admin rights if You run Win10
The function fade/not fade should work , as I myself do choose not to fade, and it works ( I run radiosure on Win XP, and on WIn10).
( be sure to not-hide extensions of files, and to show hidden files on your pc, so you know with which file you are dealing with)
At last:If the songs are broadcasted with fade ins/outs, then You must realize that no one can change that, unless you do remove pieces if the beginning and ending of the recordings manually after the recordings.

Dear Fonzy,
Sorry for the late response, I didn't get e-mail notification about this reply.
So yes, the program was installed automatically in a system folder.
C:\Users\Acer\AppData\Local\RadioSure\RadioSure.exe
It can be a problem, so I reinstall it.

Oh, I know what is the problem!
Now I can hear the difference.
See in my drive folder.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... jxz1t4HQAk
(1) when fading disabled - NOT OK
(2) when fading is active - NOT OK
(3) recording with other program - OK

You can still :!: hear a moderate fading effect in option (1) compared to option (3).
So Radiosure has a moderate fading-in fading-out feature - unfortunately...
BTW This is the Radio Station:
http://91.82.85.44:9000

Two weeks ago this radio changed sg in the stream.
Screamer Radio v.4.4. doesn't work anymore - doesn't display the song names.
I tried out 10-20 other programs but I can't find a good one.
RadioSure was my final hope....
So I can't find an alternative program which
* display the full name of the song: artist - title - date
* in recorded file names display special characters
* there is no fade-in and fade-out effects

I see in your options file, the bitrate =auto: with that choice, you cannot record !! (bug in last version of RS)
Further , you compare songs from beginning: Radiosure cannot change the way, stations broadcast or the way songs are recorded originally. To test the effect, you must disable "record whole songs", and start record in middle of a song.
Do examine fading, not on hearing the song, but by a program ( "cooleditpro 2000 "for example, so you can SEE the recorded volume from beginning) I never encountered a song or track that starts at 100 % of volume, but always has a slight fade in and fade-out. That is the way they are recorded/produced
The way this all works, cannot be affected by me, since I am just a Mod on the forum, and have no access to the admin or the programmer ( if these even does exist now))
Sorry if it does not help Yo u :-)

Version: I use v2.2.1042.0 - is this the latest version?

Bitrate: I see "AAC 256 kbs".

Should I set this value on the data sheet of this station?

Record whole songs function is disabled:

Finally, I have to mention, that other programs, like RarmaRadio is working properly.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO such this sound effect issue.

The only reason I can't use this other program, beacuse recorded file names don't contain special characters and this is confusing for me.

I welcome your further suggestions. :|

Your version is OLD, use ver 1046, download direct from RS, otherwise you cannot play m3u8, alias HLS streams, but in that version do not set bitrate on auto ,(default), but use fixed 128bps
There is nothing changed else, not improved, not fixed of things not working since then.
Further i have no suggestions for your problem
